Our Objective is to help user community to become skilled, effective, responsible information users; i.e. how to find, retrieve, evaluate and use information efficiently, effectively and ethically.

The Library manages a reprographic centre to cater to the needs of the authorized users. Apart from Librarian and other Library staff working dedicatedly for extending best possible service to the users there is a 8-member Library committee comprising of the Librarian and faculty representatives of all department including Principal. Library being ‘the heart of the institute’ the management gives highest priority for its development and resource expansion.

ABOUT CENTRAL LIBRARY:

The Central Library, HMCE started operating in the year 2014 with the establishment of the Hemnalini Memorial College of Engineering, Haringhata. Since then it has grown in content of books. Large reading room located at the first floor of the building reduction of external noise. Digital Library with multimedia facility to each computer located adjacent to book bank distribution section. In addition to online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC) students are open to access books in the rack to choose their references.

LIBRARY RULES:

• Each student can issue only two books and have to renew after 14 days.
• Each faculty can issue only three books and have to renew after 15 days.
• Each student must have carried their book bank.
• Books shall be returned within 14 days otherwise a fine of Rs. 2/-per day will be charged.
• Book issues, renew and submission time :

• The rule of silence must be respected and antisocial behavior will not be tolerated.
• Mobile phones must be switched to ‘silent’ mode.

“Books are for use”

The Library always removes or repairs damaged books, periodicals, etc. Members are requested to check the documents issued to them and report immediately any damages. As the last borrower one may be penalized for documents returned in damaged condition. The college authority may ask the concerned borrower to replace the damaged or defaced documents.

In case of loss, the borrower will be asked to replace the same or will be charged with the replacement cost if the document is not available in the market.

Central Workshop: The area satisfies the MAKAUT requirement of 400 sq. m. and has all the machinery required as per MAKAUT norms.
